On January 26, 2010 at about 10:30 in the morning, our friend, Rudlin Condor Tabanera, passed away. He was admitted in Cebu Doctors Hospital after having a seizure. Lately he had angioplasty.
All of us had good memories of Rudlin though mine is 28 years old. I don’t know if I’m wrong but I remember he was in a band in high school. There were four of them but I guess he stood out. I asked some classmates about their memories of Rudlin. These are what they say.
Marydel said, “Sugsugan si Rudlin. But I didn't mind it”. Arlene said Rudlin believed he was as handsome as Christopher Reeve (Superman). She added that he loves to laugh… always able to find fun in almost everything. Daisy recalled nga gipahilak siya in first year nila Rudlin, Bruce and Jomel.

Melissa emailed, "As for me, I will always remember how he used to tease Mary Joyce and lately Poco. He is the only one who could ruffle Poco's feathers enough nga mutubag jud si Poco nga ma tagming na sahay ang voice. -- and one other thing, he's one of those people who always replies when I text. Whether it's a yes or a no he always gave me the courtesy of a reply, and when he says yes - you can really count on that." What are your memories of Rudlin? Please feel free to include yours below. When I think of Superman, I always recall Rudlin teasing Arlene. You rarely saw Rudlin get angry or upset; he was always smiling.
ReplyDeleteBetween the 2 of us celebrating the same bday, he was the joker.Though I never greeted him on our bday over the years, I always remembered him on our special day. And only during our most recent bday did I learn that our daughters are both named Lauren. I thought that was interesting.

rudz was a dear friend. he was one person who makes me feel comfortably easy & breezy.
ReplyDeletei've known him since elementary years. the once shy & quiet boy who impressed me not only with his knowledge in history but mostly in his art, music & dance skills. i know some girls went 'gaga' over him when he danced like john travolta. haha, that was the ultimate 'greasy' revelation!
to some, he may be JT or Superman..to me, he will always be my 'rod stewart'. ...i already miss you my friend.
