32 CAME BACK AFTER 25 YEARS

Batch 1983 of Cebu City National Science High School celebrated the Silver Grand Homecoming on December 30, 2008 and January 01, 2009 at Alta Vista and Parklane Hotel, respectively. In both occasions, the gatherings were really GRAND and impressive. Of the 63 classmates, 32 made themselves available (list with Elaine G.). Manfred said, “I am sad that some of our classmates were not able to come. Some couldn’t make it because they’re so far away, and some for so many other reasons.”

The celebrations were grandly prepared by Cebu-based classmates led by Elaine G. and Melissa N., and a host of supporting casts that wouldn’t really mind pitching in their talents yet were just as happy to remain anonymous. With full support from Class President Manfred G., the events were both fun and memorable. The parties seemed like a riot, an understatement, even with only 32 classmates who made it.

In her Valedictory Speech (pun intended) Vivian O. stated, “I’m just happy to be here because 25 years wouldn’t come back again… The four years in high school is like being a family (for me). We always shared everything including trials, triumphs, and even the sad news about some of our classmates. We’re really a family and we know each other very well. I’m very proud of you guys, very proud – my family.”

Putting everything into this article will unfairly judge the whole program (the thing Is, I was one of the no-shows “for so many other reasons”).
