Time : 6:30 – 11:00pm
Venue : Gigi’s place, Sunset Drive, Lahug,
Attendees:
Gigi, Ricardo, Elaine, Homer, Monique, Roy “Alliot”, Jovelyn, Dante, Normina, Arlene, Melissa
Agenda :
- It is finally agreed that the 2008 alumni homecoming would be a grand alumni family day: a day of food, fun, music and surprises with a very festive atmosphere (colorful banderetas, balloons, foodcarts of icecream, cotton candy, popcorns, etc.)
- Dates are moved to December 30, 2008 for the grand alumni homecoming and January 1, 2009 for the formal exclusive dinner for Batch ’83.
- Venue for the grand alumni would be at VISTAMAR Resort and the exclusive dinner would still be at Casino Espanol.
- Food for the grand alumni homecoming will be catered for by The Creative Cuisine, as we will only be renting the venue at Vistamar for the affair.
- As we will be having a fiesta atmosphere, no decors needed for the venue, the tarpaulin banner itself would serve as the background. Everybody can come at their most colorful/festive attire.
- Tickets – suggested to be in 2 denominations:
- P500 – for the alumni, this would entitle us food, entertainment, use of pool, free transpo, and give-aways
- P300 – for the non-alumni (spouse and kids) which would entitle them food, entertainment, use of pool, and fooodcart foods (icecream).
- NO STUB, NO FOOD policy would be imposed to all.
- It is suggested that Give-aways have to be something not tacky, but practical; not just a cabinet item, but usable anytime and anywhere.
- It was finally agreed to have the: UMBRELLA (at least if it rains during the affair, ready na ang payong to give us shed, wala nay rason modagan di ba?)
- Suggested umbrella color is something blue and silver with print of scihi logo and event details (gigi to canvass).
- There will be two sets of T-shirts for batch ’83 – 1 for the unveiling activity and another one for the final event. The main shirt is democratically decided to be turquoise blue. For the unveiling activity, coral color is decided. Gigi has the sample colors if anyone would like to know. Or anyone could check the website of Boysen or Dutchboy (advertisement not intentional; and after days of posting and asking for votes with gray, silver and pink as choices. Hehehe. Ed.)
- Transportation – free transportation will be offered to all alumni. Suggested pick-up point is SM mall. Pick-up time is 2pm. 2 buses/coasters will be rented for the purpose (Arlene to canvass cost).
- Programs – the affair is scheduled from 3pm to 10pm:
- 3:00 – 6:00: family free time (can freely use the pool and other venue facilities while enjoying the foods from the foodcarts)
- 6:00 – 10:00: the grand alumni time, the main event…
- Stagecrew band is suggested (Ric to contact)
- As a prelude to dinner, the band would play to set the mode (6-7pm)
- Then will play again at 8:30-9:30pm
- Fireworks display at 9:30pm (will this be sponsored?)
- In between music will be played (c/o Dante)
- Sound system (Salonga sound system c/o Gigi)
- It was suggested to ask presentations form each decade groups (at least 4 numbers)
- program outline:
- Welcome remarks (from batch 83)
- Speech (in behalf of the school)
- Turn-over ceremony
- Raffles (major prizes)
- Color codes for each batch group is suggested for easier identification
- Leis will be presented to each alumni upon registration
- Ask for ERUF presence during the whole affair to ensure safety (c/o Normina to contact)
- Video shows will be played for the kids in a separate venue during the formal program (who will arrange this?)
- Balloons should be of festive dark colors (c/o Arlene)
- Suggested to hire professional photographer/videographer to cover the whole affair
- Multi-media info./press release would start as early as June 2008, thru internet, print media (Sunstar c/o Arlene), TV (ABS-CBN c/o Ricardo)
- Tickets should be available as early as June 2008, start pre-selling, request meeting with the foundation
- Any suggestion with the theme? As this will be needed by Marydel/Danny for the tickets design…. It can either be in cebuano or English
- So far, suggestions were: CCNSHS 6th GRAND ALUMNI HOMECOMING and FAMILY DAY (as the main Theme)
- Sub-Themes suggestions:
- Mga Kalipay sa Baybay
- Hudyaka sa Baybay
- Lingawlingaw ta ‘Bay
- Fun, Sun & Sand
By the way, Elaine suggested that all batch ’83 members will be registered with the alumni foundation and the membership fee will be taken from the batch fund.
Next meeting is set on March 2, 2008 still at Gigi’s place. All teams are requested to submit their budgets on March 2 meeting. Hoping for more attendance.
FYI….
